Unifilter UV-C is an internal filter designed to purify, aerate and sterilize water. Thanks to the built-in sterilizer in the pump rotor chamber, it provides the effect of destroying algae, bacteria and other pathogenic organisms. The source of UV-C ultraviolet radiation is a patented system using advanced LED technology.
The UV nozzle replaces the rotor chamber cover when needed. Only filtered water flows through it, making the sterilization process safe for aquarium inhabitants and the bacteria in the filter cartridges and substrate. The UV-C rays keep the aquarium water biologically clean at all times. This ensures that fish and plants live in a comfortable and healthy environment.
The UV-C LEDs can be turned on and off independently of the filter operation. This is because the caps have an independent power supply. Aeration can be done through the nozzle or through the impeller chamber.
Aquael Advice
In order for the filter to work efficiently, it is recommended that the impeller chamber and UV-C LED lenses be cleaned of debris on a regular basis. Detergents (soap, dishwashing liquid, etc.) and solvents should never be used for this purpose, as residues of these agents remaining in the filter can cause disease and fish death.
The Unifilter UV-C filter can be mounted on the aquarium glass with the shorter or longer side. This solution allows the filter to be hidden in a less visible part of the aquarium, such as behind vegetation. The design of the filter’s motor and the position of the impeller allow it to be used in tanks with low water levels, such as aquaterrariums or paludariums. The motor is always submerged. Suction cups and an adjustable hanger ensure the stability of the unit. The filter rotor is equipped with a ceramic shaft for quiet, long-lasting, and trouble-free operation in both freshwater and saltwater aquariums. The 90° adjustment of water flow rate and direction allows you to tailor filtration to the individual needs of your aquarium.
The Unifilter UV-C has 2 sponge cartridges that provide mechanical and biological filtration. The unique design of the Unifilter UV-C prevents dirty water from spilling into the aquarium when the filter is removed or changed. This eliminates the risk of dirty water in the aquarium. Since the filter has 2 filter sponges, it is best to clean them alternately. This will prevent the destruction of colonies of nitrifying bacteria that help nitrogen metabolism.

The largest model in the series, the Unifilter UV-C 1000, has an additional container for filter media. The basic package contains BIOCERAMAX 600. These loose filter media can be replaced with any filter media from the Aquael range, depending on your needs.
