ACTI COLOR contains two types of carotenoids: beta-carotene and astaxanthin. Beta-carotene, in addition to increasing the color intensity of fish, is also necessary for their proper growth and the smooth functioning of their immune system.
Carotenoids color not only fish and shrimps – we can also see the effects of their effects on ourselves – eating large amounts of carrots or drinking carrot juice. The skin and nails of our hands can turn orange. ACTI COLOR containes also carrots and red peppers.
The second of the natural “color-enhancing ingredients” in ACTI COLOR food is astaxanthin – an intensely red dye that is commonly found in the seas and oceans. It is produced by some species of algae. It can be found in the organisms of many animals foraging on them, including marine plankton, krill, shrimps, spiny lobsters, lobsters and all fish foraging on these invertebrates. It is astaxanthin that gives salmon their appetizing “salmon” color.
Astaxanthin also stimulates the growth of animals and acts as an antioxidant, protecting them from adverse environmental factors. The astaxanthin contained in ACTI COLOR diet is completely natural.
