The FZN PRO is another cascade filter concept in the Aquael portfolio. It is ideal for a variety of tank types, be they nano aquaria or shrimp tanks, or larger tanks of up to 300 litres. A great choice for small marine tanks where the cascading water drop creates a natural wave that mimics the movement of the sea.
We have taken care of a number of features that will make using the FZN PRO filter a pleasure.
Don’t like waiting for the filter to start at full power? With the FZN PRO, you will not have this problem. By placing the motor under water, the filter starts working immediately once plugged in, without the need for prior priming.
Worried that if the power supply is cut off, your filter won’t start up when the power is back on? The FZN PRO will start working immediately and treat the water in your tank straight away. Thanks to the safe placement of the motor underwater, even prolonged power cuts will not be a surprise for this filter.
The telescopically adjustable* intake tube allows you to precisely adjust the length to suit the tank in question. Adjust the water intake location to the height of the substrate in your tank. This will work especially well with unusual aquarium sizes.
Adjust the performance of the filter as you see fit and as needed. We have placed a large, convenient adjustment knob on the top of the case. It allows you to seamlessly adjust the force with which the filter operates.
You will perfectly match the position of the filter to your tank. This is ensured by a convenient round controller that you can precisely set the right water level with.
Despite the large volume of the filter media container, the housing is slim and does not take up much space. The casing outside the tank is only 9.5 cm thick.
The Aquael designers have ensured that the FZN PRO filter operates as quietly as possible. The sound generated by the largest filter in the family is only 32 dB – as much as a quiet whisper. The thoughtful design ensures maximum noise suppression. This is because:

Do you prefer a solution tailored to your own preferences? You can use the spacious filter chamber for any additional bulk materials of your choice. Arrange them in layers as in a typical cascade filter or put together your own arrangement with one or more cartridges.

We have created the FZN PRO filter entirely from non-corrosive components, so they are safe and long-lasting. Whether you have a freshwater aquarium or a fondness for saltwater tanks, the FZN PRO filter will be an excellent choice.
Some users are concerned about the accidental leakages from water supply hoses to a filter placed outside the aquarium, although this risk is minimal. The FZN PRO filter completely eliminates this possibility. By suspending the filter at the edge of the aquarium, the water has no chance of escaping the tank.
The energy-efficient motor requires minimal power consumption. The largest filter in the FZN PRO 1500 family operates at just 13 W. So your finances are also safe.
If required by your aquarium, the filter can be supplemented with a matching skimmer*. It will effectively filter the surface of the water for a crystal surface effect. The skimmer cleans the surface of dust particles, organic deposits or plant residues after pruning, which will be particularly appreciated by open-tank enthusiasts and aquascapers.
It should be noted that the skimmer requires no additional power supply. Simply fit it onto the intake tube in one motion. It is seamlessly adjustable, so that the surface part is always at the right height. If you do not need the skimmer, disconnect it without losing the functionality of the filter action.
Advice from Aquael
Not sure if a permanently attached skimmer will collect the feed before the fish have time to eat it? The skimmer of the FZN PRO filter does not need to be removed for feeding time, for example. Simply twist its top so that it is above the water level. This will render the device non-functional. Whenever you wish, lower the top so that the device starts collecting sediment again.
From now on, you will enjoy scheduling aquarium cleaning. With one twist of the motor closure, you get to the rotor. You can easily service or clean the rotor of deposits. The same is true of the filter sponge. Thanks to the specially adapted basket*, you can remove all the filter trays in one movement, rinse or replace them with new ones and place them back in the chamber. You will have your hands free because the housing cover will not get in your way. It opens effortlessly and, in addition, can be comfortably rested on the back of the tray.
The spacious tank gives you flexibility of use. You can fill the section with a suitably cut sponge of your choice and chemical media, layering them as you see fit. Fill in the remaining space with cartridges, which you pull out in one movement thanks to the convenient plastic covers. In the cartridges, you can use, for example, a carbon filter which, after the absorption period, you can easily remove without disturbing the remaining substances.
